Awareness Campaigns
NEDA leads and participates in many awareness campaigns throughout the year in an effort to raise awareness for eating disorders and related issues.

Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW)
Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) is the largest and best-known eating disorders outreach effort in the country. It is an opportunity to improve public understanding of eating disorders, including their causes, dangers, and treatments. EDAW also aims to empower everyone to reduce risk factors and take part in prevention efforts.

Body Acceptance Week
Body Acceptance Week is an exciting initiative that promotes body acceptance—including body positivity, body neutrality, and body liberation—for all. It is part of NEDA’s commitment to eating disorder prevention. Body Acceptance Week offers resources, education, and support for those experiencing body dissatisfaction and its related risk factors.
National Eating Disorders Screening Week
National Eating Disorders Screening Week is a campaign to raise awareness about the critical importance of eating disorder screening. Join us in connecting NEDA’s online screening tool to those at risk and help them take the first step on their healing journey!

Back to School
As students return to school, parents, teachers, coaches, counselors, and peers can play a key role in spotting signs of eating disorders and offering support. Early detection, intervention, and awareness can make a real difference. We’ve compiled back to school resources to help you learn about eating disorders, recognize the warning signs, and find help.
#No Diet Day
May 6th is #NoDietDay, an annual social media campaign that encourages the rejection of diet culture. Started by Mary Evans Young in 1992, this movement celebrates body acceptance, diversity, and respect for all body shapes and sizes.
